JN Civils has teamed up with Recycling Lives Charity’s rehabilitation programmes to provide training and job opportunities for ex-offenders.
Recycling Lives Charity is dedicated to making a lasting, positive social impact that transforms lives for the better. Established in 2008, their goal is to decrease reoffending rates by assisting ex-offenders in securing stable housing and employment.
Their rehabilitation initiative collaborates with 11 prisons in the North West, North Wales, Yorkshire and the Midlands, empowering ex-offenders with essential skills, support, and prospects through partnerships with organisations like ours. This work significantly reduces reoffending rates, with fewer than 1 in 10 of the Charity’s participants returning to prison. Employment is one of the strongest factors in reducing this risk.
Currently, JN Civils supports one participant from the rehabilitation programme and is exploring additional work placements for those undertaking day release from open prisons.
Collaborating with Recycling Lives Charity not only aids in ex-offender rehabilitation, reducing the chances of reoffending, but also ensures we can meet the expectations of our customers delivering on time and within budget through dedicated resources.
Joel Cossins, CEO of JN Civils, said, “We are thrilled to contribute to Recycling Lives Charity’s mission of empowering and inspiring ex-offenders to discover a purpose that brings positive change to their lives. By providing opportunities at JN Civils, we believe we can truly impact people’s lives, guiding them towards better choices for a purposeful and stable future.”
Robert Thackray, Recycling Lives Rehabilitation Programmes Manager added:
“The team at JN Civils have been really open to our work and offering right from the off. It’s been great to show them what we do and see them share in our enthusiasm for helping people to change their lives for the better.
“The first work placement is already proving to be really positive for the gentleman involved and it’s great that he can now pave the way for more opportunities for others.
“This partnership will benefit JN Civils too, equipping them with loyal team members who are keen to learn and progress, and a tangible way to demonstrate their values and social responsibility commitments.”
