JN Civils is a leading name in the UK utilities sector, committed to delivering exceptional service to our clients.  As we continue to grow and enhance our operations, we are seeking 2 dedicated HSEQ Advisor to join our team. This role will report directly to the HSEQ Manager and play a crucial part in supporting our mission by ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, environmental, and quality compliance.  One role is based in Blackpool looking after the Openreach Contract and the other is Preston based overseeing all other contracts.  Both will have occasional travel to other sites in the UK as needed.

Role Summary:

The HSEQ Advisor will be instrumental in assisting with the development, implementing, and monitoring company policies, procedures, and systems that promote a safe and healthy working environment. This role requires a proactive approach to prevent incidents, comply with legislation, and foster a culture of continuous improvement across all operational areas.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the HSEQ Manager in maintaining and improving HSEQ management systems
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with legal and company standards
• Provide HSEQ guidance and support to operational teams, promoting best practices and risk management
• Monitor HSEQ training programs of staff at all levels
• Deliver internal training programs including inductions to staff at all levels
• Assist in the Investigation of incidents, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions
• Prepare HSEQ reports on request for management teams
• Keep abreast of new legislation, industry best practices, and developments in health, safety, environmental, and quality standards

Qualifications & Experience:

• IOSH Managing Safely, SMSTS or NEBOSH or working towards a NEBOSH qualification
• Proven experience in a similar role within the utilities, construction, or civil engineering sectors
• A thorough understanding of HSEQ legislation and best practices or the appetite to be trained further as this role develops
• Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with all levels of the organisation
• Driving Licence is essential

This role will report directly to the HR Manager and plays a crucial part in supporting our mission by ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, environmental, and quality compliance.  The position is based in our Blackpool office with flexibility to work out of the Head Office in Preston if needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Working with the Contract Managers and Agents, gather and analyse information to determine training gaps across the Openreach Contract
• Work with external training providers to schedule the Openreach specific training such as SA006, FCFW1, FCCW1, BB1M, Q025, Q020, K8 etc.
• Keep all training records up to date
• Manage the onboarding of all Openreach Teams including loading of all training records to internal and external systems
• Attend fortnightly/monthly meetings with Openreach to discuss training compliance across the contract
• Manage the recharging process for the Self Employed and Subcontractors working with the HR and Payroll Team
• Design internal processes related to the training function
• Work with the Senior Management Team to provide expertise in the designing and identifying of training gaps throughout the business
• Any other administrative duties as directed by the Line Manager

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience in a similar role within the utilities industry would be preferred
• Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with all levels of the organization and external clients and training providers
• IT skills on internal systems and Microsoft Office packages

The role will be operating our new state of the art CDE Recycling Plant in Blackpool, to include responsibility for the day to day maintenance alongside the operation of the plant

Skills / Qualifications

• Previous proven wash plant experience, preferably in recycling but, not essential
• Experience on 360º Excavator and 25tonne Loading Shovels is an advantage

JN Civils Ltd are currently looking for a White Top Reinstatement Team working in Preston and the surrounding areas.

We are looking for individuals with a can-do attitude to join our ever-growing team. Must be flexible and available to work shifts with occasional weekend work when required. We are looking for applicants who take pride in their work and have a track record of high quality flagging/white topping work. We are looking for a few gangs of 2 people with one of them taking the more senior role of Gang Lead.

Full UK Driving Licence is essential, all applicants must hold a valid Streetworks card and at least 4 years of flagging experience. Manual Handling, Emergency First Aid, Face Fit and Abrasive Wheels certificates also needed.

We are looking for a Grab Driver and Grab Driver Second Man with a can-do attitude to join our ever-growing team. Must be flexible and available to work day shifts with occasional weekend work when required. Full UK Class 1 HGV Licence is essential. Applicants must hold a valid Streetworks, SHEA Power, Lorry Loader Clamshell and Slinger/Signaller ticket and have at least 4 years of experience. Machine tickets, emergency first aid, manual handling and abrasive wheels certificates are also required by our client but can be arranged inhouse.

Due to expansion, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join our ever-growing team of professionals within our Gas utilities division. We are looking for a Main & Service Layers working in the Preston and Blackburn areas. A multiskilled Operative (Main & Service Layer) who is CP registered is an advantage.

Duties to include:

· CAT and Genny survey in accordance with the national specification and standards

· Excavating following company policies and procedures

· Main laying activities

· Service laying activities

· Preforming monthly B.A checks and recording on documentation

· Setting up site to Chapter 8 of the NRSWA

· Electrofusion of a wide variety of joints in accordance with the national standards

· Reporting of any defective tools

· Good communicator on site

· Understand the risk assessment and the policies under the Cadent contract and the JN civils terms

· Assisting with the reinstatement team in back filling trenches to meet the current industry standards

· WASK Drilling in readiness for the mains replacement

· Main laying in the butt fusion process

· Any issues regarding lone working and procedural information is located in the yard and electronically on the work tablet

Other qualifications are a valid Streetworks, SHEA Gas, machine tickets, emergency first aid, manual handling, face fit (BA & Dust Mask), asbestos awareness, vehicle banksman and abrasive wheels certificates.
